Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information we collect when you visit this website, how we use it, and the choices you have.

Who We Are

This website is operated by SZNS Digital Marketing ("SZNS", "we", "us"), a digital marketing agency based in Lexington, Kentucky. If you have questions about this policy, email us at [email protected].

Information We Collect

Information you give us

When you fill out our contact form, we collect your name, email address, company name (if provided), the message you send, and whether you asked to join our newsletter. We may also collect information you share with us by email, phone, or social media.

Information collected automatically

When you visit the site, we and our service providers may collect technical and usage information, such as your IP address, browser and device type, operating system, approximate location (city or region), referring website, pages viewed, time spent on pages, clicks, scrolling, and how you arrived here (for example, from an ad). Analytics and advertising data is only collected if you allow it, as described below.

Cookies and Similar Technologies

Cookies are small files stored in your browser. We also use similar technologies such as browser local storage and tracking pixels. We group them into three categories:

  • Strictly necessary. Required for the site to work, for security, and to remember your cookie choices. These are always on.
  • Analytics. Google Analytics 4 and Microsoft Clarity, which help us understand how visitors use the site.
  • Advertising. Google Ads, which helps us measure and improve our advertising.

We use Google Consent Mode. Analytics and advertising storage are turned off by default and stay off until you choose to allow them in our cookie banner. If you decline, Google tags may still send limited, cookieless signals (such as that a page loaded) that do not identify you.

Third-Party Services We Use

Google Analytics 4

Google Analytics collects information about how you use the site, such as pages visited, session length, and general location, so we can see which content is useful and fix what isn't. We do not use it to identify you personally. Google processes this data under its own privacy policy. You can learn more in How Google uses information from sites that use its services (opens in a new tab), and you can opt out of Google Analytics on every site with the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on (opens in a new tab).

Microsoft Clarity

We partner with Microsoft Clarity and Microsoft Advertising to capture how you use and interact with our website through behavioral metrics, heatmaps, and session replay, so we can improve the site. Website usage data is captured using first- and third-party cookies and other tracking technologies to determine the popularity of pages and online activity. Clarity masks text you type into form fields by default. This information is also used for site optimization, fraud and security purposes, and advertising. For more about how Microsoft collects and uses your data, see the Microsoft Privacy Statement (opens in a new tab).

Google Ads

We advertise through Google Ads. With your consent, Google Ads tags on this site record actions such as submitting our contact form so we can tell which ads work. They may also let us show you our ads on other websites after you visit (remarketing) and help Google personalize the ads you see. You can manage how Google personalizes ads for you in My Ad Center (opens in a new tab). See the Google Privacy Policy (opens in a new tab) for details.

Other service providers

We use other vendors to run the business, including website hosting, email delivery, and our email marketing platform (for newsletter subscribers). They may only use your information to provide services to us.

How We Use Information

  • To respond to your inquiries and requests.
  • To send our newsletter, if you signed up for it.
  • To understand how the site is used and improve its content, design, and performance.
  • To measure and improve our advertising.
  • To keep the site secure and prevent fraud or abuse.
  • To comply with legal obligations and enforce our rights.

How We Share Information

We do not sell your personal information for money. We share information only in these situations:

  • Service providers such as Google and Microsoft, as described above.
  • Legal reasons, when required by law, subpoena, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of SZNS, our clients, or others.
  • Business transfers, if SZNS is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
  • With your consent.

Under some U.S. state laws, allowing advertising cookies for cross-context behavioral advertising can count as "sharing" or "targeted advertising". You can opt out at any time by turning off Advertising in your cookie preferences. Where your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we treat it as a request to opt out where the law requires it.

How Long We Keep Information

We keep contact form submissions and email correspondence for as long as needed to respond to you and manage any business relationship, and then as required for legal, tax, or accounting purposes. Analytics and advertising data is kept according to the retention settings of each provider. Newsletter subscriptions last until you unsubscribe.

Your Choices

  • Cookie preferences. Change your analytics and advertising choices any time with the Manage Cookie Preferences button on this page.
  • Browser settings. Most browsers let you block or delete cookies. Blocking strictly necessary cookies may break parts of the site.
  • Ad opt-outs. Besides Google's My Ad Center, you can opt out of interest-based ads from many companies through the Network Advertising Initiative (opens in a new tab) and the Digital Advertising Alliance (opens in a new tab).
  • Newsletter. Use the unsubscribe link in any newsletter email, or contact us.

Your Privacy Rights

Depending on where you live, including certain U.S. states, the European Economic Area, and the United Kingdom, you may have the right to:

  • Know or access the personal information we hold about you.
  • Correct inaccurate information.
  • Delete your information.
  • Receive a copy of your information in a portable format.
  • Opt out of targeted advertising, sale, or sharing of your information.
  • Object to or restrict certain processing, and withdraw consent at any time.
  • Appeal our decision on your request, or complain to your local data protection authority.

To make a request, email [email protected]. We may need to verify your identity before acting on it. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.

If you are in the EEA or UK, we rely on your consent for analytics and advertising cookies, and on our legitimate interests or steps taken at your request to respond to inquiries and run the site securely.

International Data Transfers

We are based in the United States, and our service providers may process information in the United States and other countries. Where required, those transfers are protected by appropriate safeguards such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses or the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework.

Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect information, including encrypted connections to this site. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Children's Privacy

This website is intended for businesses and is not directed to children under 13 (or under 16 where local law sets a higher age). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Significant changes may also be announced on the site.
